Dear brothers and sisters of QHC,
Pray that everything is well with you and your family.
The church office was informed that one of our high school students was tested COVID positive on Monday, 12/20. He attended English worship and caroling on 12/19. His parent who attended the Chinese worship and caroling was also confirmed COVID positive on Wednesday, 12/22. What brings us to concern is that they attended a Chinese small group family gathering on Saturday, 12/18. We have contacted the family. They both have fever and running nose symptoms.
We have already asked all individuals who had close contact with them (within 6 feet) to self-quarantine for 5 to 7 days and then do a test. In the meantime, we have conducted deep cleaning and disinfection for the church building.
We have consulted medical professionals. Since both of the high school student & his parent were wearing masks during the whole time in Sunday worship and caroling, it is safe for the church to meet. Gatherings such as Christmas Eve party/worship, year-end prayer meeting, youth fellowship, and Sunday worship will continue as planned. Brothers and sisters may consider joining the gatherings in-person or online according to the situation. However, we urge anyone who believes they may have been potentially exposed to COVID to get tested within 5 to 7 days after the exposure. For COVID testing, you may visit the nearest NYC Health and Hospital (https://www.nychealthandhospitals.org/covid-19-testing-sites/), urgent care, or your provider if appropriate. If you have any related symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff. If there is anything you need help with, please feel free to let us know. In the meanwhile, let us continue to pray for speedy recovery of the sick & divine protection for every brother and sister!
May the peace of God be with us all. Merry Christmas!
