We would like to introduce to you something that our pastors have been thinking about in order to further nurture and deepen our relationship with God and one another. It’s called “Chillin with the Pastors.” The 1 ½ hours will be spent having conversations regarding specific topics that are relevant to our current stages of life and faith. For example, we will spend some time leading up to the Holy Spirit weekend having conversations about… you guessed it, the Holy Spirit! All are welcome. Here are some parameters for our meetings:
1. Please keep in mind the purpose of this meeting. It is meant to be:
a. Relational—As you can imagine, there will be some hot topics and plenty of personal opinions. It’s therefore important to be reminded that all interactions must be respectful and kind. The pastors will do our best to “host” the meeting in Christ-like fashion as well.
b. Transformational—Expect the meeting to be informative and developmental. We ask everyone to come humbly, with gentleness, and willingness to learn and broaden your scope of understanding and perspective. There will be new information. There’s always new information. Be courageous and curious about what others are thinking. Whatever we learn and experience, the end goal is to become more and more like Jesus.
c. Missional—We want to love God and love our neighbors. We’re hoping that in all we do, we can hold one another accountable to be faithful in our journey of life and faith and to represent Jesus well to those in our circles of influence who are outside of our church walls as well. If we live our lives expectant of such interactions, God will open those doors!
2. Conversational—Though there will be some teaching involved, the vast majority of the meeting will be conversational. Even the teaching time will be driven by good questions that people ask. Hopefully, enough questions are asked in advance—that is, prior to the meeting itself.
3. The meetings will be held from 7 pm – 830 pm on Monday evenings via ZOOM, therefore, a request for a link should be requested. Text/emails will be sent regarding cancelled meetings.
